A tadpole-shaped island fortress at the entrance of Manila Bay, famous as the last stronghold of Filipino and American forces during World War II. The island's ruins, tunnels, and batteries including the Malinta Tunnel tell the story of heroic resistance. Today it serves as a memorial and heritage site accessible by ferry from Manila.
