A 17th-century Spanish fortress on the waterfront of Zamboanga City, originally built in 1635 as the Real Fuerza de San Jose. It now houses a branch of the National Museum and the shrine of Our Lady of the Pillar, the patroness of Zamboanga. The fortress walls and grounds offer views of the Basilan Strait and a glimpse into the region's colonial military history.
