Officially the Island Garden City of Samal, this large resort island in Davao Gulf is accessible by a short ferry from Davao City. It offers beach resorts, the Monfort Bat Sanctuary (home to the world's largest colony of Geoffroy's rousette fruit bats), and Hagimit Falls.
