The highest peak on Bongao Island in Tawi-Tawi at 342 meters, Bud Bongao is a sacred mountain revered by the Sama and Tausug people as a pilgrimage site. Hundreds of long-tailed macaques inhabit the slopes, and the mountain is dotted with sacred Sama shrines and meditation spots.
