One of the oldest mosques in the Philippines, built in 1380 on Simunul Island in Tawi-Tawi, marking the introduction of Islam to the Philippines. The original pillars of the mosque remain standing and are considered among the most important Islamic heritage sites in Southeast Asia. The mosque represents over 640 years of continuous Muslim worship in the Philippines.
