Everything you need to know about getting, loading, and using your Beep card on LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 in Metro Manila.
A contactless stored-value transit card for Metro Manila rail commuters.
The Beep card is a contactless stored-value card issued by AF Payments Inc. — the official transit payment system for Metro Manila's urban rail network. Similar in concept to Hong Kong's Octopus card or Singapore's EZ-Link card, the Beep card replaces the old single-journey magnetic stripe tickets that used to clog the ticketing queues.
With a single Beep card you can ride LRT-1 (Green Line), LRT-2 (Purple Line), and MRT-3 (Yellow Line) — no need to buy a separate ticket every time. Simply tap the card on the reader when entering and again when exiting. The correct fare is automatically deducted from your stored balance.
| Issued by | AF Payments Inc. |
| Card cost | ₱80 |

| Min. balance to ride | ₱15 |
| Max stored value | ₱10,000 |
Getting your Beep card takes less than 5 minutes at any LRT or MRT station.
Beep cards are sold at all 51 stations across the three Metro Manila rail lines. Simply approach the ticketing window — no appointment needed.
Ask for a "Beep stored value card" or simply "Beep card". If you are a senior citizen or PWD, mention it — a discounted special card may be available.
The standard card costs ₱100 total: ₱80 for the card and ₱20 is preloaded as your initial stored value. The Beep Standard variant costs ₱150 with ₱70 initial load. You can load more immediately at the same booth.
Keep your Beep card away from strong magnets (phone cases with magnetic clasps, speakers, or refrigerators), direct sunlight, and sharp objects. Do not bend it — the contactless chip can be damaged easily.
Hold the card flat against the turnstile reader on entry. The gate opens and deducts the minimum fare. Tap again on exit at your destination — the system calculates the correct fare based on distance and charges the difference.
Available at all ticket booths on these lines:

13 stations · Recto to Antipolo
13 stations · North Ave to Taft

Download the official Beep app, hold your NFC-capable phone to the card, and your balance appears instantly. Also shows transaction history.
Use the self-service kiosk machines available at most LRT and MRT stations. Place your card on the reader and select "Check Balance."
If the other methods are unavailable, a ticketing agent at any station booth can check and display your remaining balance for you.

Card availability and pricing are subject to change. Verify with the ticketing agent at your nearest station for the latest information.
Act fast — only registered cards can have their balance recovered.
Register at any station ticket booth or via the Beep app. Registration is free and links your card to your identity — this is the only way to recover your balance.
Go to any station ticket booth and inform the agent your registered card is lost. You can also report through the Beep app. Reporting freezes the card to prevent unauthorized use.
After verification, AF Payments can transfer the balance from your frozen card to a new replacement card. Processing time and any fees may apply — ask the station agent for current procedures.
If your card is not registered, there is no way to trace or recover the stored value. Always register your card immediately after purchase to protect your balance.
Option 1 — At a station:
Bring your Beep card and a valid government ID to any LRT or MRT ticket booth.
The agent will register the card under your name at no cost.
Option 2 — Beep app:
Download the Beep app (iOS or Android). Create an account, tap "Register Card,"
then hold your NFC-capable phone to your Beep card to link it to your account.
What you need:
Valid government ID (passport, PhilSys, driver's license, SSS, GSIS, etc.)
and your Beep card serial number (printed on the back of the card).
Fares shown in Philippine Peso (₱). Beep card fare = cash fare. No premium or discount — just faster entry.

Get the most out of your Beep card with these practical tips.
₱30 covers the most expensive single trip on any of the three lines. Running out of load at the turnstile causes delays for you and everyone behind you.
Place the card flat and hold it against the reader for about 1 second until you hear the beep sound and see the green light. A brief light touch often fails to register.
If you accidentally tap twice at the entry turnstile, the system may record two fares. If this happens, report it immediately to the ticketing agent before proceeding.
Your card must have at least ₱15 to pass through the turnstile. If your balance is lower, load up before heading to the entry gate to avoid holding up the queue.
Card registration is free and takes 2 minutes. It is the only way to recover your balance if the card is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond use.
Your Beep card doubles as a contactless payment card at selected SM stores, SM parking facilities, and other Beep partner merchants. Check the Beep app for a full list.
