One of the most powerful waterfalls in the Philippines, Maria Cristina Falls plunges 98 meters in Iligan City, known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls. The falls power a major hydroelectric plant that supplies electricity to much of Mindanao. While the falls are partially harnessed for energy, they remain an awe-inspiring natural spectacle, especially during the rainy season when the volume increases dramatically.
